How to follow directions from God.

Moments with God are easily accomplished. If I open my windows and doors, my soul sees the map God has left for me to follow with directions. There is only one problem I have with that it’s not easy for me to follow directions cuz I think I have all the answers. in reality, I don’t and it’s all God’s will that I have to train myself to intuitively know which road to take and when to exit a place in life. I am getting better at it. Outlined below are some steps I take.

1. When I pray, afterward I sit quietly and listen for a response from God. Sometimes it’s a sign something I see that gives me the answer, or something I suddenly feel. In either case, it requires silence and a aight meditation, quietly breathing alone.

2. I take the time to think about my prayer. I review the words I said in prayer. I am sure you have heard the phrase “be careful what you pray for”. I always remember to thank God for the blessings he has given me so far.

3. I wonder about what would Jesus do in my situation….most of the time the answer is to pray for the other person in the situation…even if I am upset with them. This is really helpful because when I pray for someone else I see the situation through their eyes. This builds my compassion for others. Overall I.see steady improvement in my actions. But this is a process of building my foundation it takes à while. I have to remind myself to be patient with the process. Change does not happen overnight. I also have to honestly evaluate my progress. Sometimes I think I.did better than I actually did. This is easy to recognize based on the resolution of the situation…I.monitor the progress. WWJD is a wonderful phrase that I often myself. It keeps me open to all answers placed before me…
