The Dalai Lama is quoted as saying:
“Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace.”

Here are 3 Quick Tips on how to keep or get that peace of mind.

Imagine how happy you would feel if you could stay calm and poised in the midst of whatever is happening in your life…no matter what it was! Think how much physical, emotional and mental energy you could save, if you were able to avoid becoming upset, angry or moody and projecting negativity in the air. Think of how much more positive you would feel. More energy? I am in.

  1. Don’t take everything personally. Negative emotions lead to disturbing thoughts that disrupt you and prevent you from focusing on the positive. It’s true not everything is about you.

  2. Realize you cannot control the actions of others. We can only control our own actions. There is no “magic wand” we can wave over children, family, situations. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink. No matter how much you wish for it, no matter how badly you want to work things out, the bottom line is we have no control over others and what they do.
  3. Realize that you are in control of a valuable asset…your re-action. You can choose how to react to the situation. You can leave, you can state you position and politely leave, or the best option decide not to let that person affect your day at all. That’s right refuse to be drawn into the negativity. If you’re having a good day, shine on the incident until you have time at your convenience to process it, in a manner that takes the emotion out of it.

Three fast quick tips that you can begin applying to your life now. I can tell you that from personal experience, a whole lot of cranky got taken out of my atmosphere. As all the cranky dust left and lifted there was a feeling of peace. I could let go all that dead weight that held me down. I work on this continually the best thing to do is every time you catch yourself doing one of the above three things is “STOP” immediately, and rewire your thinking, get rid of those thoughts and enjoy your day.

MANTRA:  Today is my day to keep my thoughts in peaceful areas of creation.  The day is my attitude.  My attitude will refuse all negative interactions, as I find balance in my thoughts.
